Blue-Ray technology is based on a short wavelength blue violet laser that is used to write media. The Blue-Ray laser has a wavelength of (405nm) nanometers the measurement of visible light and therefore allows it to write much more data onto an optical disc.
Blue-Ray Disc
Blue-Ray disc’s are an optical storage media developed by the Blue-Ray Disc Association. These type of Disc’s can store up to 50GB of data on a dual layer disc using the most common media formats of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 compression. A Blue-Ray disc delivers up to 48Mbps of data making it the clearest and brightest with the most detail compared to current HDTV broadcasts capable of delivering 10Mbps.
Short Impressions
Blue-Ray disc’s have won the format war over HD DVD and is capable of delivering 6x the resolution with 7.1 channel lossless audio. Blue-ray disc players have interactivity and are backwards compatible with support for playing your current DVD’s. With all the major manufacturers of DVD players supporting Blu-Ray and game console makers like xbox and playstation supporting the format Blue-Ray is obviousley the way to go. I like the feature rich content, clarity and superior quality Blue-Ray technology has to offer. With resolutions of 1080p you know you are truly watching HDTV in its true form.

You wont be seeing BR on the 360 any time soon. It looks like the war may not be over… Well it may be taking a whole new direction.
