Cell phones are becoming more advanced today, of course the Japanese have the best handset technology i believe and that comes to no doubt when your talking about a breakthrough in the display size of a cell phone and the quality of images or video that can be viewed on it. Panasonic is building the first Plasma screen in cell phones for use with AT&T . This will come in handy when they launch their new mobile T.V. service in May.
Technology behind Plasma Displays for Cell Phones
The new display will only use 1.5 volts of power so you will continue to have longer battery life especially with lithium polymer batteries. You know how sometimes when your out in the daylight and you have to cover your phone to see pictures, well you will have to not worry about that with plasma as it delivers a bright display with vivid colors and pristine sharpness. AbleComm is behind the technology and they say it is cheaper to produce than OLED’s, which in return cuts the price for handset manufacturers.
Impressions of the Panasonic Plasma Display cell Phone
Panasonic did not disclose of the phone model that will be carrying the Plasma display. I like the idea of high resolution games and viewing content on the internet Since Sony has developed flexible OLED’s I would like to see flexible Plasma screens as well. This is definitely a step in the right direction for Panasonic as sales in the handset industry for the U.S. market has been lacking for them, and for some time I might add.
