Throwing coal inside a firebox just does not cut it now days when your looking for speed in a train. Although the TGV has been around for a while now, some recent modifications has made the train the fastest engine powered train in the world. The TGV is located in France and broke the world speed record, obtaining a speed of 574.8 kph or 357.2 MPH. Trains In Japan and France are leading the way in transportation in those hustling economies where its important to travel quickly even if it is a short distance.
World’s Fastest Rail Train TGV 574,8 KPH Inside Footage
Technology Behind the TGV
Alstom is the company behind the TGV, a European energy giant that builds ships, trains, and turbines. The TGV is based on three main technologies which have been combined for the first time: articulated carriage architecture, a distributed drive system and synchronous permanent magnet motors. All three contributed to the performance of the train which set the world rail speed record.

Impressions of the TVG
Economy is the impression we get. on one gallon of diesel fuel a train can carry 16 tons almost 150 miles where that same gallon in a truck can carry one ton 60 miles. The train produces its own electricity using a combined rheostat brake and energy recovery brake. When the energy generated by the motors during the braking phase is not consumed by the train, it can be fed back into the electric grid. During braking phases, the power fed back into the grid can reach 8 MW. * They are working on a newer version with more room and 26% more efficiency although will travel the same speed its called the AVG.
